A new school year brings new faces to the Maria Montessori School staff! We are overjoyed to introduce our two additions to the MMS family, Emily and Annabelle. The school year is already off to a fantastic start and our students are thrilled to have them in their environments. Keep reading to learn more about them!
Emily Miller is a caregiver in our toddler community. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Memphis. Emily was introduced to the MMS community in her previous job as a nanny for an MMS family. She frequently visited campus for afternoon carpool pickups and was immediately captivated by our little yellow schoolhouse and all the wonderful people in it. When a job opportunity presented itself in the toddler room, it felt meant to be!
Emily loves how accessible Montessori education is at its core. Specifically when working with toddlers, everything is a learning experience when approached in the right way.
Outside of school, Emily makes charcuterie boards on the side and enjoys cooking, reading, attending concerts and spending time in nature with her family. She is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of identical twins.
Emily is excited to collaborate with the other teachers in her environment and loves seeing new and former students’ smiling faces!
Annabelle Babbit joins us as the middle school guide. She received a bachelor’s degree in music from Rhodes College and previously worked as a teaching assistant with the Magnolia High School performing arts department.
Annabelle believes education is the greatest tool a person can have, and enjoys how Montessori education empowers children to have more autonomy in their educational journey.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring Memphis, traveling and choral singing. She is a classical and jazz vocalist and was a member of an improv comedy team. Annabelle is excited to grow and learn more about the Maria Montessori School community!
Emily and Annabelle have already made such great additions to our MMS family, and we can’t wait to see how the rest of the year will unfold! We encourage you to introduce yourself to them if you haven’t already.
