At Maria Montessori School, we’re committed to providing an environment full of qualified individuals who are passionate about the Montessori Method and assisting students in academic, emotional and spiritual growth. As we continue to grow, so does the need for extra guides to ensure your children receive attentive care and specialized learning instruction tailored to their individual needs. It is because of this that we decided to add a few friendly faces to our roster. Keep reading to learn more about our newest additions, Emily and Marilyn!

Emily McFarland is an assistant teacher in the toddler community. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English and literature from the University of Memphis and joined the MMS team at the beginning of 2022. Emily’s passion lies in working with children and encapsulates her professional career thus far. After an introduction to the Montessori Method, she continued researching to learn more about Dr. Montessori’s teachings. Emily’s favorite part about the Montessori Method is seeing its daily impact on each student – she is often awestruck by the independent behaviors it produces.

When asked about her experience thus far, Emily said, “I consider myself very lucky to have joined the team at MMS. It’s as if I joined a family that is constantly teaching me how to be a more careful, loving and proactive member in our very special community.”

Outside of the classroom, Emily enjoys traveling, reading, writing and cooking.

Marilyn Jenkins serves as a toddler caregiver. She received a bachelor’s degree in history with minors in political science and Spanish from Villanova University and is currently pursuing her Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for ages 0-3 and 3-6.

Marilyn has previous work experience in Montessori primary environments and is excited to learn more about early childhood education and development. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with a passion for running and gardening.

We’re so excited to welcome Emily and Marilyn to our MMS family.
