On September 30th the 2017 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists were announced. Twenty-two Shelby County Schools seniors have been selected and of these 2 are Maria Montessori School Alumni.
August (Gus) Harper, who attends Central High School, and Nathaniel (Nate) Siler, who attends White Station High School both graduated from MMS in 2014.

“Students who score the highest on the Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Corporation award. To be a finalist, students must submit an application that includes their academic award, participation in after-school activities, leadership experience, employment and awards received. Finalists will be announced in February and the scholarships will be awarded in the spring.”
