Dear MMS Families,

As an additional layer of safety in response to the COVID-19 virus, The Maria Montessori School has partnered with the City of Memphis program, Test to Protect. With this partnership, we are able to offer staff and families surveillance testing for COVID-19 and those results before the start of school. Based on participation, we hope to offer this surveillance testing at regular intervals throughout the semester to allow for continued monitoring and increase the likelihood of an uninterrupted school year.

This testing program is designed for students/staff attending school in-person who are without symptoms to help prevent spread within the school setting. However, this program also allows anyone within those families who would like asymptomatic testing to participate. The cost of a test is $30.00 for each individual, payable to the school by cash or check at the time of testing. Any families who will experience a hardship with this fee may contact Maria directly for assistance.

The staff from Test to Protect staff will be onsite at Maria Montessori School to collect samples on:
Day: Thursday, September 3rd
Time: 3:00p.m to 6:00p.m.

We strongly encourage families to commit to at least testing their children who will be attending Maria Montessori school in-person in order to ensure a safe start. We hope that families also find this opportunity useful to provide peace-of-mind for other household members or those children who will be learning from home.
