Countdown to the MMS Library Book Fair
September 10-14 at the Booksellers at Laurelwood!
Fabulous Events!
-
Friday night, 6:30-8:30 is Tweens and Teens night at the Booksellers. This is a special evening for older E1, E2, and Middle School kids to share book recommendations and shop with friends. If you dine at Bronte Bistro, remember to use a voucher!
-
Sunday, 1-3 is Littles and Bigs Shop with the Aardvarks. This event is aimed to tickle your toddlers, Primary kids, and younger E1s. Our very own Mr. Joe will rock the house from 1:30 – 2:15. Story time with special guest readers will follow.
Opportunities to be Helpful!
I know you’re asking yourself, what can I do to make the Book Fair a HUGE success? Luckily, I’ve prepared a list for you…
-
Volunteer to be a docent. Sign up on the sheet outside the office, or contact Mary Ann Boyle (maryannboyle@johnboylesales.com), Julia Blythe (blythedj@me.com) or Mindy Turley (blathanna8@hotmail.com). Some of your kids will be volunteering, too; thanks in advance for supporting them!
-
Plan to come, whether during normal shopping hours or to an event.
-
It’s early, but I know some of you like to get it done. So plan your own holiday shopping. The Booksellers at Laurelwood has more than just books; they stock toys; stationery; fine lotions, soaps, and candles; CDs and DVDs; gift certificates; and much more.
-
If you do nothing else, share this with all your friends. Share the Facebook event. Forward this email, give them vouchers. Invite them to the events on Wednesday and Sunday.
It’s Easy!
Here’s what you need to know.
-
During our fair, from Wednesday through Sunday, 20% of proceeds from all vouchered store sales and 10% of all vouchered café sales benefit the MMS Library. You don’t have to attend an event, but we only benefit from your Laurelwood purchases during those dates.
-
When you shop during the fair, present a voucher (Click Here for Voucher) at checkout. This is the easiest way to ensure our percentage. However, if you or your friends forget to bring your vouchers, don’t worry. There will be vouchers at the checkout counter. Just mention that you’re with the MMS Book Fair. The cashier will attach a voucher to a copy of your receipt. At the day’s end, all receipts will go to a store manager who will calculate our percentage.
By shopping at the MMS Book Fair at Laurelwood, you’re not only benefiting our library. You’re also doing your part to sustain this locally-owned, bricks-and-mortar bookstore — the one you’ve probably taken your kids to on at least one rainy Sunday afternoon.
