The 19th Annual Maria Montessori School Silent Auction and International Food Tasting

It’s already that time of year again! Our annual Maria Montessori School Silent Auction and International Food Tasting is only weeks away. Since its inception in 1997, MMS has held this event to celebrate our school’s diversity while raising funds to offset tuition dollars awarded in scholarships. These scholarships help keep MMS true to Dr. Maria Montessori’s initial philosophy and allow every child access to Montessori education, regardless of their situation.

This year, the auction and dinner will take place at Amurica at 410 N. Cleveland on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m., at which time the auction will be open for bidding. The auction tables will close at 8:30 p.m., and music and festivities will begin at 9 p.m.

In previous years, our menu has included dishes from Argentina, China, Vietnam, Italy, Greece, Austria, Mexico, Tunisia and Burundi. And, attendees this year will have the chance to take home big prizes, such as hotel packages, spa packages, membership to Rhodes College’s Alburty Pool and Zoom! Whitening (a $500 value), as well as children’s artwork. Most importantly, it’s a fun evening full of delicious food and music and a great way to get to know the MMS community better.

Each MMS family participates by donating two items for the auction, providing an international dish to share and purchasing at least two tickets to attend the auction. Tickets are $35 a piece and include admission to the auction, live music, an international food buffet, complimentary beverages and more!
