The Maria Montessori Middle School begins each year with an Odyssey trip planned by eighth-year students to foster community, inspire learning and create new bonds between new and returning classmates.

Seventh-year student, Nicholas Klosky, wrote about his experience of the trip this year:

“The Odyssey trip was really fun! I loved the mystery, independence and fun. The first day, I was jumping around with suspense! The SUSPENSE!

This year was one of the most fun years yet. I bonded with my class, especially the boys who were in the same cabin with me. The eighth-years did a fantastic job picking out where we were going. My favorite parts of the trip included Bridges, the Discovery Park of America and Heifer International.

Although we spent a lot of our time at cool places, I especially enjoyed riding in the van when we played cards, ate chips, told stories, made music with pipes, talked about TV and just had a good time overall. It was a great introduction to middle school.”
