The Inaugural Boat Builders Race
Races start at 10:00 AM
Location: Harbor Town Marina, Memphis TN
Individuals, families, businesses and organizations are ALL invited to register a TEAM…construct a boat (made of only cardboard, tape and/or approved waterproofing) and then bring it to our Regatta to race against other competitors on the Wolf River Harbor on Saturday, April 22nd!
Stretch the limits of your ingenuity and design a boat made entirely of corrugated cardboard. No wood, no metal, no motors—just cardboard and imagination.

The boat must be ‘people powered.’
Participants must be 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult.
All boats must be taken with you after the race, whole and/or the pieces.
Personal Flotation Devices Must Be Worn While Participating!
Grand Prize: A day on Pickwick Lake with Specific Gravity1
and a group of your friends
Also The Pirate King/Queen Award for most creative & The Titanic Award for most dramatic sinking
$25 / Team – Registration Fee
Prizes to be announced. All participants will receive a trophy, hand-made by the students of Maria Montessori School.

There will be free fun activities for spectators and teams to enjoy including a family Wacky Boat Competition on the pond, live music, children’s games, make and take art, grilled food, kayak rides in the pond and much more.
